How to edit /check Praxis email account settings in Mac OSX Mail.app

Note:

SSL should be off for both incoming and SMTP (outgoing) mail servers

Although SSL may work ( for both incoming and outgoing) Terago cannot guarantee it will always work consistently

Open Mail Preferences

Select Accounts

Select Praxis email account

Select the account you wish to edit

ensure the following are correct

email address
incoming mail server: mail.praxis.ca
username: this may be in the form of name.praxis.ca OR [email protected]
password: - whatever your password is!

Select Advanced Tab

SSL Off/Port Number 143 for IMAP

The SSL Checkbox should NOT be checked, and the port number should be set to 143 fro IMAP accounts, 110 for pop accounts

Your "Authentication" method should also be set Password

Settings for SMTP (outgoing mail server)

Select Account Information Tab

Select/edit your Outgoing Mail sever list

You may only have one server in your list- that's OK, simply select "Edit SMTP Server list..."

SSL Off/Port Number 1025 for SMTP

Select your Server (1)

Select use custom port and enter a value of 1025

Turn off "Use Secure Sockets Layer" ( checkbox should NOT be checked)

Your "Authentication" method should also be set Password, and you should have your username (full email address) and your password filled in as well.

Click OK to apply settings

Click OK

Close Preferences Window

When asked to Save Changes, click Save.

You're DONE!
