Check netextras SMTP in Outlook Express 6

This will walk you through checking the outgoing (SMTP server settings) account in Outlook Express to make sure you are using the  settings for the netextras.com email server.

 

Open Outlook

Open Outlook ( probably from your start menu), if you already have an another email account select Accounts from the Tools Menu.

Select the account from the list, then click the Properties  button

Select the Server Settings

The outgoing email server should read mail.netextras.com ( or smtp.netextras.com)

If it does then great ( your done just click cancel, then close the window)

if not

1) Make note of your exisitng setting

2) Change Outgoing mail (SMTP)  to mail.netextras.com

2) Check off "My Server requires authentication"

4) Click the settings button

Make sure you have "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected

Click OK

Click the Advanced Tab

1)Check "this server requires a secure connection under both the Outgoing (SMTP)  and incoming mail settings.

2) Make sure the port number or Outgoing mail is 465

Click Apply

Click OK

NOTE: in IE 7 the order of the outing and incoming address are reversed.

Click either the Close button or the window close

Test Settings

To test your settings simply, click the send and receive all button.
