Add or Edit IMAP Account in Outlook Express 6
This lesson will walk you through the steps to create a new email account in Outlook using settings for the netextras.com email server.
You may also follow this to double check or change existing settings, simply skip to the step named "Edit Account Properties"
Open Outlook

Open Outlook ( probably from your start menu), if you already have an another email account select Accounts from the Tools Menu.
If you do not have any existing accounts, Outlook will most likely start the "Wizard Interface" and you may skip the following step
Add New Account

Click the Add button and select mail account
Wizard Interface

Type in your display name, this is anything you want, it is simply used to identify your account within outlook (it helps differentiate multiple accounts if you have them)
Click Next
Add email address

Enter your fill email address
Click Next
Set Account as IMAP

Select Account type IMAP
Enter the settings for incoming and outgoing email server.
You may enter mail.netextras.com for both
Click Next
Enter Account name and Password

Enter your Account name, which is your full email address
Enter your Password, if you wish also select/check Remember Password
Click Next
Note: Make sure at this step you add your FULL EMAIL Address for your account name, by default it will only add the portion before the @ symbol
Finish

This concludes the basic setup, but you still must set some other settings
Click Finish
Edit Account Properties

Select the account from the list, then click the Properties button
General Property Settings

Here you may add some additional info, it is suggested you add your Full Name (Name) as well as your reply address (1), this should be the same as your normal email address.
Also check "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing"(2)

Once you have added the additional info
Click Apply
Server Property Settings IMAP

Click the Servers Tab
For the outgoing Mail server, make sure "My Server requires authentication" is checked.
Click Apply
Click Settings
Outgoing Server Settings

Make sure you have "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected
Click OK
Advanced Property Settings IMAP

Click the Advanced Tab
1)Check "this server requires a secure connection under both the Outgoing (SMTP) and incoming (IMAP or POP3) mail settings.
2) Make sure the port number or Outgoing mail is 465
3) Make sure the port number or Incoming mail is 993 if IMAP or 995 if POP3
Click Apply
Other Settings
The following screen shots simply show you what the settings on the other tabs should be. Yu should not need to change/modify any of these.
