Adding an IMAP account to an iOS device
This lesson will cover adding and IMAP email account to an iOS device (iPhone,iPad or iPod touch) running iOS 7 or greater. Although the screen shots are from an iPhone the settings and steps involved will be very similar
Go to Settings
Tap Settings
This app may be at different location/screen on your iOS device, if you have Siri enabled, you can try holding down the home button and say "Open Settings"
Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Add Account
Tap Add Account
Select Other
Tao Other
Add Mail Account
Tap Add Mail Account
Add username and Password
Enter YOUR
Name
Password
Description ( this can be anything you like, it's just an identifier for the account in case you have more than one email account)
Once complete
Tap Next
incoming mail server
Fill in the settings for the incoming mail server
Host Name: mail.netextras.com
Again make sure you use YOUR email address and password
Outgoing Mail server
Scroll down and enter the settings for the outgoing mail server (same Host Name)
Tap NEXT
A
Your Account will now go though a verification process
Tap Save
Adding Account
The account will then be saved
Complete
Tap Done
Troubleshooting
If you had problems with your account try checking the following settings
Check your outgoing mail server settings
Tap SMTP mail.netextras.com
Primary Server
Tap the primary server mail.netextras.com
Outgoing Server Settings
make sure all your settings are exactly the same as above (except of course the User Name and password should be YOUR user name (email address) and password)
Tap Done
Check incoming Server
Tap Advanced
Incoming Server Settings
make sure all your settings are exactly the same as above
Tap Account
Tap Done
